Best time of menstrual cycle for an MRI to diagnose Adeno?

Hi, after years of fighting to get some sort of help and being told after numerous 2-minute ultrasound procedures that nothing is wrong, I am finally scheduled for a diagnostic laproscopy for endo this coming May. However, my last ultrasound also revealed what the doctor suspects is adenomyosis. Despite the 10+ years of symptoms for adeno and endo, no doctor will do an MRI before my laproscopy, and I am paying for one out of pocket as I'd prefer not to have multiple operative procedures simply because no one felt like doing their due dilgence first (sorry, I'm a little angry about that, if you can't tell).

My question is - for any who had adeno confirmed by an MRI, what day of the menstrual cycle did you have the scan? I am being told it should be during my period, while numerous empirical studies say otherwise. I can't afford to pay for more than one MRI out of pocket, so I really want to get this right.

Thanks so much for any insight, I truly appreciate it. This is making me crazy.

I had a private ultrasound that diagnosed endo and adenomyosis. I then had an NHS general gynae appointment who ordered an MRI to confirm. This wasn't during my period but it was brilliantly detailed on the deep infiltrating endometriosis and bowel involvement and stated mild to moderate adenomyosis. Never heard that it had to be at a certain time in your cycle?

Thank you! At this point, the experience of others is worth the most to me in getting some guidance. I appreciate it.

Hi over the past 5 years I have had 4 u/s all of which have shown suspected adenomyosis, none of them were done on a particular day of my cycle. Not one u/s picked up endo but in 2021 I had a lap in which only a very small amount of endo was removed and no other signs and this small amount apparently is not enough to be the cause of my excruciating pain.

I had MRI in 2017 which shows I have Adenomyosis and it was not done during my period
