hello ☺️ I got diagnosed with stage 2 Endo at the end of November and had the coil fitted during surgery.

today I have had a total panic as I couldn’t feel my strings or cervix so had an emergency gp appointment - turns out everything was fine, in place as it should be and it’s quite normal to not feel them as it is quite far up to reach for yourself

the gp is worried I have some health anxiety although we agreed that we would revisit how I feel in a few months as I have come off my pill (which I was taking for 10 year) so it might be the hormones making emotions worse

I think I may well have health anxiety after years of invasive procedures, hospital visits, tests etc trying to find the cause of my symptoms before my diagnosis - as all that would make you worry! I know I have answers now but I suppose the anxiety is still there if something isn’t quite right to me (although is actually fine and normal)

does anyone else get this or can relate? I feel a bit isolated as I don’t know anyone who has gone through all this as well. How do you manage?

Sorry you're going through HA its awful. Amd youre right, having loads of procedures triggers it. I had it for a decade after having cancer. I pretty much cured it by doing Cbt Therapy with a clinical psychiatrist. Top of the food chain for counselling. Cost a fortune but worth it. Now I just get irritated by all the medical crap I go through instead of anxious that I might die! Defo consider cbt Therapy. Best of luck x

Sorry to hear of your struggles although that’s good to know that cbt has helped you! Honestly I do freak out anytime I think something and wrong and my mind always goes to the worst case 🥺 I thought it would get better after my diagnosis but it hasn’t - my go did give me a self help guide to see how I get on but I think maybe speaking to someone about it will help x

I find when I can exercise (which is rare at the moment) I can keep it under control. Also recognising triggers is important and positive self talk. Mindfulness helps xxx

hi

Bless you 💕sorry you’ve been through so much, anything health related can make you anxious or low even if you don’t feel like you are at times.

I’ve had a string of health issues the past 5 years on top of endo and I am really lucky to be here still. I recently self referred to talking therapies, I was assessed and currently on a cbt group course for long term health conditions and it’s really helping me - I had a one to one as I couldn’t make a group session and therapist thinks I have ptsd - which they’ll address once this course has finished.

I’ve never been a therapy type of person- but wish I had reached out sooner if I’m honest

Best wishes x
