Link between adhesions and ongoing abdominal pain.

Happy New year to everyone. I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience? .20 years ago after several years of abdominal pain I had a total hysterectomy. They found that my abdomen was full of violin string adhesions. I was great for a short time then I started to have intermittent abdominal pain. Lost lots of weight. I have been diagnosed with vitamin b12 deficiency and now have regular 3monthly injections. My question is can adhesions still be causing problems after all this time? Thank you

I have been told that even if I have a hysterectomy my pain could come back and potentially worse than it is now. Due to the level of scarring it's hard to get rid of it all.

Thanks for replying Poppy. Hope all goes well for you. I suspect that I still have adhesions and scarring which causes the problems.

I was a bit taken back when I received my consultant letter which states that not only was there a good possibility the pain would come back but that it will be worse .

I didn't know I had adhesions until I had my op, so didn't have to decide whether to have hysterectomy or not. Hope all goes well for you whatever you decide. Best wishes x
