I have just had my fifth Zoladex injection, which I am being given alongside Tibolone, whilst I await hysterectomy (I have about another five months to wait all being well).
Whilst the Zoladex has been really good at stopping the endo symptoms, it is making me feel like rubbish. I don't feel myself at all - I feel sluggish and I am putting on weight which is really getting me down.
The 'research' says only 3% of people on Zoladex experience weight gain but my nurse said yesterday it is inevitable.
Has anyone else experienced this weight gain and sluggish feeling? I am going to push myself to up my exercise and eat very healthy - but will this make a difference or will the weight cling to me? I would really love to her from anyone who has managed to lose some weight whilst on the drug and offer some advice.
Also, has any else had a hysterectomy after Zoladex treatment? Did you find you could lose weight more easily after?
I keep telling myself I need to be kind to myself right now but I feel frumpy and bloated.

Hiya, I hope your okay! I've just come of prostap which is very similar to zoladex, I was on it for 2 years, are you on HRT alongside these injections? I'm not going to lie but it took me at least 6 months to feel a sense of normality on this drug... However it's been 3 months since my last injection and the come down of it is absolutely horrendous!
Hi I've just started it and I'm worried about weight gain too as I put 15 pounds on with provera from Sept to end of December and my consultant said it was "unavoidable". I'm determined to lose it, but with zoladex it will be hard because it changes the way your body deals with fat. I've gone onto keto in a bid to get my blood sugar down too. I'm praying this will help. I'm also hoping to start to exercise again if I can get the bleeding to stop! At the moment I'm hemorrhaging. You don't mention your age which is a huge factor in this as most women will put on around a stone in menopause. That doesn't mean you can't do something about it, and lots of women do, but it is the norm.
Thanks for your reply. I’m almost 46 so I’m at that age unfortunately!! I am hoping once I’ve had the hysterectomy and recovered, I will have more control over it all.
Please be careful on Tibolone, I had a mini stroke on this drug which was caused by this drug. I have severe migraines and it should never have been given to me. This happened in March last year and I am still not 100%. I have a large fybroid and ovarian cyst and I am urgent for a hysterectomy which will be a year as I have tried everything to stop the heavy bleeding even the new drug ryeqo which hasn't worked.
I'm fed up with it all, mood is at all time low and fed up taking drugs and painkillers 😪xx
