Has anyone had a negative laparoscopy for Endometriosis but eventually got a diagnosis?

I've had 2 years of crohnic pelvic pain with bowel and bladder issues. For about 15 years I have also had sharp pains where my ovary is when ovulating and before my period. Painful, heavy periods. Passing clots and utis.I have have had multiple opinions, including large fibroids. My most recent test, laparoscopy, showed a globular uterus, which they believe is caused by Adenomyosis but no endometriosis was found and I have since found out there is no 5cm fibroid, despite an ultrasound before the laparoscopy saying there was.

I truly believe the pain on my ovary is Endometriosis. Could it have been missed?

I'm seeing the consultant soon. Should I ask for an MRI? I just don't want to be fobbed off again x

It is possible for Endo to be missed - especially if the lap is done by a general gynae. Did your surgeon have a specialist interest in Endo/was a specialist? My first lap was negative for Endo but was done by a general gynae. My second lap last year was done by someone with a specialist interest and Endo was found on my ureter and my left uterosacral ligament.

Definitely ask for an MRI. I've had several ultrasound which identified fibroid and possible endo on the ovary. Went for the MRI and as clear as day stage 4 endo, fused bowel, tubes, booths ovaries and multiple large cysts. Was then referred to specialist centre and now on the year long waiting list for a full hysterectomy.

Thank you for your replies. Im glad you finally got some answers 🙏They are very helpful. He has an interest in Endo, so not sure if that's the same?I will ask for am MRI definitely. What happens if my request is declined. I've already paid enough privately, so that isn't an option unfortunately.
