Hi Ladies, just really wondering if you could help.I was diagnosed with Endo in Feb 22, and joined the ever increasing NHS waiting for a laproscopy.
Apart from severe daily pain over the past week or so I'm literally having problems with my memory and speech. I was in a shop today and I was confused. There were noise from other shoppers, but nothing too loud. I was looking at things on the shelf and it was literally an information overdose. I couldn't understand what I was looking at.
I've also noticed my eyes are not too sharp. I've had to photo something then go back to the photo and zoom in to read it.
Even reading is difficult. I can't take in what I'm reading. I came to the conclusion last week I couldn't tell you anything about the last endo book I had read.
I'm not sure if I'm losing the plot, tired as I'm not a great sleeper or having brain fog, I'm reading about.
I truly look forward to hearing from you

I struggle with brain fog too. I didn’t notice for a while thought I was just tired that day or not on point but I’ve put two and two together.
I will be chatting away and will say the completely wrong word and not notice until someone points it out! I was talking about brain fog to my partner the other day and said BRAIN FROG😂🤦🏽♀️ and I didn’t notice.
I also get quite overwhelmed shopping sometimes and especially at work!
It’s weird, I’m not really sure what to do about it either so sorry not much help but wanted to know you are not alone xxx
Thank you so much for your reply. I truly appreciate you answering my message. It's a difficult one to get my head around. It's definitely reassuring to know I'm not alone. Thank you
I got this really bad to the point where I gave up my job because I had to do a lot of public speaking and I couldn't do it without a power point as I'd forget words or say the wrong word - it was just too much having been so good at it to become so bad was really tough. I was crippled with anxiety as both mum and grandma had early Alzheimers. I had 15 blood tests over 3 years at the doctors and nobody - not one person- mentioned peri -menopause. This went on for years and I became more and more worried. I spent thousands of pounds on supplements and other treatments and became very paranoid about my health in all forms. I had tinnitus too so this made me feel isolated as I couldn't hear people. Back and forth to the GP and still nobody asked any sensible questions. Because my periods were regular it was not peri menopause - end of conversation. I have endometriosis and fibroids too but they came later. The endometriosis was only found when they tried to do a hysterectomy 8 werks ago. Then finally I spoke to a woman who described her symptoms and it was a real shock. I started researching brain fog and then asked my doctor for bio idential HRT. I put that gel on at night in November 2020 and I swear to you I woke up a different woman. It was immediate! I still suffer around my period with words but nothing like it was. I'm really passionate about helping women who feel scared like this and making sure you are informed. Yours does also sound like a type of migraine where you cannot read or even recognise faces. If you haven't had your eyes tested please do as lack of estrogen makes your eyes very dry. Good luck xxx
Thank you so much for your reply. That is unbelievable. It is really scary because you think the worse. I said to my husband yesterday I was even wondering if I had the start of alzheimers. You are obviously very knowledgeable which is great. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'm glad that this gel is making a difference to you.
are you losing a lot of blood due to endo? Worth getting your iron checked if so. I have fatigue, brain fog and speech issues which I’m sure are due to low iron . My Levels are only very slowly building back up.
I think you should probably discuss this with your GP as there could be lots of reasons. He/ she will probably do a blood test, anaemia as already mentioned could be an issue as could simple tiredness,
Could it be medication you are on, especially if that has changed recently?
I agree with the person who posted about experiencing this peri menopause. I did too but you don’t say your age, so don’t know if that is a factor.
