I have been suffering with really bad brain fog - I can retain the important stuff for work for example but I seem to really struggle to remember the easy day-to-day stuff that I previously would have been able to remember, more so things outside of work. Though I also noticed I’m not as articulate as I was before and lose my focus more easily. Until recently I didn’t realise brain fog was something many people with endo struggle with.
It’s frustrating, especially at work sometimes as I’m a teacher. I was wondering what other people’s experiences are and whether you’ve found anything to help with this? Thank you 🙂

I am currently having a brain fog flare and it is not fun!
Its very hard to describe what it feels like.
I find it so hard to concentrate on anything, I can't even read a book. I thought I would try audio books but cant even concentrate on them. I also loose my train of thought very easily. It feels like there is a strange fuzzy feeling in my brain.
I do find making sure I eat at regular times helps as I have noticed if my blood sugar gets a bit low the brain fog is much worse.
A bit of exercise if you can manage it, It makes me feel like I'm getting some good circulation to my brain.
Also I find a strong smell or taste can help E.g. a very sour sweet or the smell of lemons can sometimes help (don't know why!) 😊
Thank the heavens I am not alone in this.I have cried so much about this this week. Yesterday my husband and I downloaded a shared app so he can add notes on for me with things such as "grandpa picking kids up wednesday at 3pm" and "set the alarm on Tuesday for 2pm to catch the 2:07pm bus for hospital" etc.
I work in a lab, and I am forgetting the words for things I use regularly a lot- for example test tube, or pipette. And I mean I use this stuff every day. I can look at it and know exactly what it is but I forget.
Yesterday I forgot the word for milk. Milk!! I had to describe it like I was playing guess the word.
I have sobbed out so much over this as it feels like I have early onset dementia...
Oh my god, this is exactly how it is for me! I forget normal everyday words all the time. I forgot the word 'garden' the other day. I was just telling my partner 'The dog is in the... in the...' and just couldn't remember the word. It happens all the time. So frustrating! Glad it's not just me.
Hello. I totally understand how you feel. I am a teacher myself and had to stop teaching as I literally wasn't able to focus on teaching anymore. That happened around 6months ago and I have endometriosis and adenomyosis and had laparoscopy in May 2023.
2 weeks ago I was prescribed Ryequ and I feel much better. Household chores are so much easier me and 80% of brain fog has lifted so you may want to get your hormones checked and get the right treatment.
I get this really bad too. It makes my job really difficult (I'm a book editor!). Sometimes I feel like I use up all my words during the day because I'm trying so hard to be good at my job, and then after work I'm so fatigued I forget how to talk. My partner notices it too. I can barely string a sentence together sometimes.
I don't have any tips on how to make it better, other than making sure you get plenty of rest and letting your brain switch off when you can to recuperate. But I wanted to say you're definitely not alone in this. I hope you find some relief soon! 💜
