Waiting for lap whilst trying to conceive advice

Hiya all,

I was looking for some advice or generally to see if anyone has the same situation. I'm 35 now, and was told I had endo when I was 27 but as my symptoms were not severe enough by the time I was seeing specialists in my 30s they said to me that I didn't need a lap. I've had years of painful sex, had to go for psycho sexual therapy as I was so nervous about the pain, finally started having sex to try to conceive in the last year or so, and no such luck! Luckily my doctor referred me to the fertility clinic because of my age, endo and other symptoms I have. 6 months later I finally had that appointment and after a painful appointment /search, I was told that my endo is quite severe, with one ovary pushed upwards and distorted, the other ovary has 2 cysts on but that's not too much of a worry. The specialist said I should of had a lap years ago and now I'm on a waiting list for one , 6-8 months then depending on how bad the tissue is and my egg count, then IVF. I wondered if anyone else had been in this situation, and if there's anything I can do whilst I wait, it feels like more time is going past and I can do nothing! My periods are irregular so I'm not sure when I ovulate so they didn't think it was worth giving me progesterone. Feeling a bit lost and was wondering what people's stories were, if the lap helped you conceive after, and any advice on not looking at the clock!! Thanks xx

Hiya, I've been in a similar position but just had a lap and going for 2nd round of ivf. The waiting for everything is so so hard but I've tried to focus on doing lots of things I wouldn't be able to do with kids or while doing an ivf cycle and looking after my mental health with daily yoga and gym classes. I started a new job that was better for my stress levels and so that was another good distraction. Sorry I don't have any proper advice but wishing you all the luck xx

Hiya,

Thanks so much for sharing. That's such a good idea about doing lots and starting yoga, I definitely need to do that! I do have a stressful job that takes up a lot of my mental energy so does distract me during the day but exhausts you at night. Good luck with your second round I really hope its the one for you this time xx
