Endo and ectopic pregnancy

Hi,

I've been in the process of various investigations after a few years of worsening pain before, during and after my period. Basically my symptoms are intense pain in my side (generally the right) pretty much from ovulation to week after my period. During my period the pain is worse, I get intense nausea and generally feel like complete sh*t... Periods regular-ish but heavy and 7 days long. During this time I was also trying to conceive.

After a year trying to conceive I fell pregnant, but the pregnancy was ectopic. It ruptured and I lost a lot of blood so when I asked the surgeon who removed my tube if he'd seen anything that would have explained the pain, he said he was unable to see anything due to the volume of blood in the area.

My question is, could I still have endometriosis, or would this have been picked up at some point during the various ultrasounds I've had for the ectopic and the surgery to remove the ectopic and my damaged tube? I'm now recovering from the surgery but already dreading the return of my periods, and just unsure about what investigations might be useful next.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I have also had a ruptured ectopic and the same as you, they could not see anything due to the bleeding. I just wanted to post to say within a year of my ectopic I fell pregnant and had a little boy. I am currently waiting for a gynae appt as they have finally agreed it is probably endometriosis after years of back and forth to the gp.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, take it easy.

You could still very well have endo the only way they could tell for me was through lap as I have it so deep it didn’t show on ultrasounds at all. Only showed a cyst which then resolved but it had t really as they did lap had a hugh endometiroma removed frozen pelvis bowel involvement. Sounds totally like endo as you get nausea. I now got nausea on reg basis practically all the time and take anti sickness as if I didn’t would be throwing up constantly all day the worst it got was throwing up constantly for ten days but at that point didn’t know I had endo till this year. Just keep pushing ok for a lap. Tried many different things like pills the injection the implant the only thing that kinda works is the coil. But I still got bleeding until early this year when they treated the endometoma . Just bleed now from my back passage and have blood in poo. Pills never worked for me as would feel like I wasn’t taking anything as still excruciating pain.
