Hi lovely, I just wanted to message as I found out last week my partner of 17 years has had a 2 year affair for the same reason as I was unable to give him the intimacy and/or sex needed due to being in so much pain all the time and fatigue. I just wanted to reach out to say thinking of you, it's so difficult living with the pain and symptoms and having relationship pressures on top. With hindsight I know we could have communicated better but I was in a dark place pre diagnosis and surgery, I guess it's all a bit fresh for me to offer any positivity or guidance, but just wanted to reach out to say you're not alone and maybe others have advice, I did find the Endometriosis and Couples video on YouTube really accurately portrayed how both my husband and I were feeling and that gave some comfort knowing that it's an issue for many people dealing with endo and that it has a massive affect on relationships, we have signed up for some help from Relate but there's about a 10 week wait for an appointment in our area, sending love to you, here if you want to talk x x

Yea unfortunately my husband of 25 years wasn’t a bit understanding of any of my endo journey which has now led to divorce and the reason was he became so upset at me not wanting to be intimate he became violent so I left. Felt like I just wanted to be left alone for a while to cope with my health but he couldn’t get his head around that. I had a hysterectomy 5 yrs ago and suffered a bladder prolapse. I’ve now had that operated on and feel so much better now I don’t have to cope with the stress of him. So apart from a stressful 15 months trying to sort the finances out it’s def the right decision for me. It’s so hard when you don’t have the support of your partner.I have 2 children but they are adults so it’s been hard for them stuck in the middle. Never easy. Stay strong xx
