Hi, I’ve been suffering with long heavy periods for many year. I had an ablation at 40 which stopped the bleeding for 7 years, but now at 53 I’m still bleeding. I went in for a biopsy of the womb under General as, and was told that my womb was stuck together due to the ablation and C-section I had. I had just come around and didn’t question the consultant as I was just about to be sick! I’m none the wiser. Does this sound like endometriosis?
I’m also have awful burning right side pain in my pelvis, hip and around my lower back. Is this related. My bleeding seems different, I was having bleeding every 2 weeks, but this time it’s been 6! thought it had ended as im getting all the menapause symptoms, especially the flushes!
Thank you all for reading this very long post and advice would be great as im so fed up of the pain and bleeding at 53!

Hi Suzzs l had a fairly late menopause was 55 when l had my last period. I didn’t have as much pain as you describe, just the feeling of lower back strain as though had lifted something heavy. Tried HRT but this just made me flood so had to give up on that.
I am now 77 and had my first partial hysterectomy December 2022 followed by completion March 2023.
My surgeries were due to heavy post meno bleeding in December 2021, which my first consultant dismissed out of hand even though (pardon this) l had told him that in one visit to the loo l had turned the reservoir bright red and couldn’t get off the loo for 20 minutes.
I really hope you get listened to when you have your next consultation, keep a diary of everything that happens and hand it to your consultant to read.
Wishing you well on your journey to health, if you would like to contact me l check my posts alternate days
