I had a lap in March 2023 on NHS and was diagnosed with superficial endo, found on my bladder, bowel and POD. This was ablated and excision was performed however I have had no relief at all from this surgery and my bowel and bladder symptoms are so much worse since the first lap, and my pain is constant
I have gone private for an MRI scan which was clear and an ultrasound just showed a few cysts on ovaries but my consultant didn’t seem concerned about those.
My consultant really wants me to have the mirena coil but I have always been against this. I really don’t feel comfortable having this but feel like I’m left with no option.
My consultant has said he can either admit me for another lap or fit me with the coil.
Just looking for some advice, I understand this is personal preference but has anyone been in a similar situation? What’s peoples experiences of having 2 laps in the space of a year? .

I'm happy you have some way to manage your symptoms. For me contraceptive though helps with the bleeding induces migraine for me so it becomes counter-productive. It is not an ideal practice to use tranxemic acid in the way you've indicated, it should be a last resort. I too found a change in dietary habit helps reduce the pain. At the moment I need to be more discipline, since the foods which aggrevates my endo are those I have strong desire for (chocolate, coffee, cheese etc.). I have real severe pains, but like you , it has been less than before surgery. Mefanamic acid works for me but I have to take it as soon as I feel discomfort and take mentenance doses for the duration of my period. I still have other symptoms bloating, constipation, diarrhea, backache and leg pains. It is difficulty to manage my daily routine.
Hi Lilac, I’ve only had one lap surgery but my periods, bowels and pain was horrendous for a few months following the surgery. I think because your insides are still so tender from them poking around and ablating the endometriosis, it’s just raw inside for a while. Ibuprofen tends to work better for me than paracetamol but ibuprofen can also hurt your stomach lining. Try and be careful with foods that you eat so try and cut out anything inflammatory or fatty. I feel your pain and really hope it starts to settle for you as time goes on xx
