I’ve suffered with issues since I started periods at 14 and at 16 was told I had PCOS which they did nothing about ever since.
Only 3 years ago was told about Endometriosis and after referral I have deep infiltrated endo on my bowels and superficial on my uterus. Since then I’ve seen so many nurses and tried different hormonal contraceptives and pain reliefs but nothing has helped and I find it actually getting worse. I have a follow up scan booked for August to check any changes but in the meantime they want to start me on injections that will put me into early menopause- I’m only 31. Has anyone been on these and can give any info/ experiences please?

Not a surgeon but if you have endo on your bowel then they usually try to shave it off with a specialist bowel surgeon or resection it. You need to get a referral to a BSGE specialist centre (Google it) especially as you have DIE and you should have a specialist review you ask your GP to refer you. Wish you well x
thank you! I’m on the waiting list for surgery and my scan is to confirm whether it will be simple enough to shave off or if it would be major bowel surgery. My concern is the injections as I’ve heard various reviews of it and my age. Just sick of all the pain etc now
Sorry I didn’t read your message properly 🙄 I’ve always stayed away from hormones just a personal thing just didn’t like them, each to their own eh. So probably better to let someone else reply, good luck x
Hi. I am 34 and am on my 10th month of prostap injections following my 3rd surgery for severe endometriosis and adeno (including bowel, bladder and diaphragm). The injections have been the best thing ever, huge reduction in pain. I had them once before when I was 22 and suffered more then from the side effects but this time has been brilliant. Good luck
