venting

hi everyone!

just here to vent more than anything but could also use some advise!

so I paid to go private to see a endometriosis specialist and he was amazing, sent me for an MRI which showed endometriosis (I already had a diagnosis of this), adenomyosis, adhesions attaching my bowel to my ovary and also a thickening over my ovaries etc too. When we discussed these results, he suggested trying for a baby (as I had said me and my partner were ready) he told me to try for 8-10 months and if we weren’t successful then the next thing to consider would be another laparoscopy (I’ve had 2 before now). We’ve now been trying for 12 months but nothing.

I keep getting severe pain every single day in both sides like where my ovaries are and it’s way worse after sex! If you’ve been in the same position what did you experience next? I have had to go back on the nhs to see the same gynae as I can’t afford but I’ve got my app this month to see him. What would you ask moving forward? I just hope there’s not huge wait times for any procedures then still in the long run need ivf or other help as I’m already 31 and don’t want to wait forever!

I can’t help as far as fertility goes, but from what you’ve said here it sounds like a great place to start with consultant. Be really specific with questions and write them down in advance. Make two copies and give him one to read and you have one so nothing is missed. There have been loads of posts about fertility here so a search might help, and check the Endo uk website and YouTube channel, I’m sure they’ve had webinars on fertility.
