Hello, My Symptoms started abdominal right pain in 2019 and its progressively become worst since that time.I’ve had lots of scans all of which amounted to nothing being diagnosed by the GP and yet I continued to experience severe pains.
Pain start gradually till it become unbearable then it stop. And all advice to do is to take paracetamol.
Been out of the country april 2023 managed to see a gynaecologist and immediately diagnosed my condition as Endometriosis.
I was recommended to take certain meds for 6 months however im afraid of the side effect of taking a synthetic hormones .
Is there anyone experience similar circumstances ?
Does anyone experience taking synthetic hormone tablets?
Many Thanks

First I'm so sorry you have been in so much pain and just left on paracetamol! Is it possible to see a different GP? Getting decent pain meds can be half the battle! Are you using any alternative treatments? I couldn't live without my hot water bottle and plug in heat pad! TENS machines are also worth looking at, they can be a good distraction from pain.
Yes many of us have tried all kinds of hormonal and hormone reducing treatments, all with different stories. Sadly I can't say what works and what doesn't, some patients say it has been a miracle for them, others like myself had little benefit and lots of new problems. It really is different for everyone. Definitely look into the pros and cons, make a very informed choice! Be careful what sites you're on, not all information is good information so just be critical of what you read. All medications have side effects, so try not to panic too much. Some have side effects worse than others, some have none. It's super super personal to you, and something you'll have to decide for yourself. But yes, there's also established long term risks involved, which for the most part can be mitigated with the use of low dose oestrogen. Again this is something you have to consider, because endometriosis has its own long term impacts, so it's all swings and roundabouts lol!
