Is there anyone on here that suffers with fibromyalgia as well as endometriosis? I’ve not had a definitive diagnosis, but when I last spoke to my gp, she said it sounded like that. Over the last week the pain in my hands has been so bad, to the point where my knuckles have swollen and I’ve not been able to bend my fingers properly. I’ve got tingling all over my body and really restless legs. I’ve been given amitriptyline but it’s knocking me out that much, the next day I can’t wake up and don’t feel safe driving to work etc. If anyone of you also suffer from this, what medication do you take for it? Thank you

Fibromyalgia
hello I have endometriosis and fibromyalgia. I was initially put on amitryptaline but it didn’t do anything for me so now on nortryptaline which is much better to help my pain levels.

Thank you for replying. Can I ask, do you get any horrible side effects on the Nortriptyline?
hi no I don’t get any side effects from it 😀it’s certainly helped me, it doesn’t take all pain or fatigue away though. I also have CFS.
When my pain is really bad and too much to bare I take either naproxen and then go on to tramadol x
Amatriptalin can cause really bad restless legs syndrome as it did me many of years ago wen I was last on them . Yr hands also sound like you may have arthritis iv just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hands as they often get like yours but also have a bone growing off my knuckles . I also diagnosed with fibromyalgia which am currently in a really bad flare-up right now . Only thing I can really suggest is keep on to Yr doctors every time you are feeling so bad . They maybe able to change the Amatriptalin to somthing else thst does not knock u out so much .definitely get the doctor to do bloods to get to the root cause x good luck x
hi I do have fibromyalgia and stage 4 endo. I’m on codeine setraline and naproxen. They don’t do much for me I’m afraid. I’m looking to contact gp for nortryptyline to see if it’ll suit me better. x
Yes, I have fibro with endometriosis but also have other chronic joint conditions (I’ve previously had 2 knee replacement surgeries aged 20&21). And unfortunately the pain and fatigue is a killer. I don’t think normal GP’s understand the pain! I just live off voltarol gel as it gives me no side affects unlike most oral painkillers. But I have been off work for a few months now and having laparoscopy in 2 days and I’m concerned due to the fatigue and pain after surgery and how recovery will be. Sorry I can’t be any help but I just wanted to let you know I understand the pain as it’s unbearable sometimes!
