stress and endo

soo… I have being doing a bit of thinking and googling!

after another stressful day at work (desk based) by 5pm my lower tummy pain is BAD!! Slowly getting worse thought out the day.

I hadn’t realised how much of a connection there seems to be between stress and endo!

Does anyone else really suffer with pain/have a flare up on a stressful day? And what do you do to help?

Hi Frankie,

I follow a nutritionist on Instagram and she wore a glucose meter for a couple of weeks. Apparently glucose spikes when stressed higher than eating a chocolate cake. So it’s probably to do with that and also increase of cortisol, the stress hormone. She said movement and diet is best to balance this.

I am trying to do meditation, tai chi daily and hoping to train my brain automatically stay calmer during stressful times. I also take ashwaganda which is great for stress and balances hormones.

I hope that’s in anyway helpful!

seriously deeply connected and to boot apparently it produces its own stress hormones without us even trying. I love Katie Edmonds book Heal Endo as it digs into how endo tissue seems to work from all kinds of studies.

So much better when I get my stress under control so empathise with you x
