Is anyone else experiencing a lot of recurring UTI/ Kidney infections with endometriosis? If so what supplements / dietary changes would you advise to help prevent them?
I was diagnosed last June and have had two laparoscopies to treat severe endometriosis, ever since I’ve had these surgeries I have felt so unwell and run down, sometimes it’s so hard to stay positive.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated

yes. Constantly but I have adenomyosis so my bulky uterus pushes on my bladder causing problems. Just sick of it now have you had an mri? Coukd be adenomyosis ( the evil twin of endo)
Hi. Yes, I have had this for many years. As soon as I feel a UTI starting, I take Cystocalm because it contains Sodium Citrate. The other product to take is D-Manose as it calms the walls of the bladder. I order it from an English company Sweet as they also offer some customer service. Have you asked for a cytoscopy to double check there is nothing else ongoing? Check the NICE Guidelines about repeated UTIs (this is for GPs and patients and you can remind them about it), but I think you are entitled to be referred for a cytoscopy, don't let the GPs fob you off.
When I had UTIs, I cut down all tomato sauces, all orange, lemon juices and fruits, vinegar, anything acidic, soya also and caffeine is a big no-no, so I am on decaff coffee constantly. I also drink water. I reintroduce tomato sauce once the UTI has gone. D- mannose is recommended by urologists. Good luck!
Hello. It took 8 years for me to be diagnosed with endo. Eventually it was found in my bladder. During an ultrasound to check my ovaries, a small growth was visible on my bladder wall. Endo was diagnosed after a biopsy. My gynae said that it was likely that the Endo had penetrated through the bladder wall, but seemingly that it is quite rare.
I would also often have increased kidney/uti symptoms if a I was constipated or had bowel upsets. I found that removing wheat and red meat helped.
Just like Anastasia17, cutting out acidic food/drink made a huge difference. I also cut out dairy and did not eat soya products, as these would both inflame my endo.
Waterfall D-Mannose (sold by sweet cures) made a real long-term impact. Catching symptoms fast and taking a high dose really prevented/relieved symptoms. I then took a maintenance dose for several months. This was usually more effective than most antibiotics I’d taken. If you read the research behind the natural product, it really does explain what it does and how it can help. x x
