Hi guys, So yesterday I FINALLY had my diagnostic lap after years of waiting and 2 cancellations and I am so happy it is done.
But I have woken up with a lot of anxiety and questions going round my head.
Firstly; in the pre op chat with the doctor, she said that they normally make 3 incisions but I only have 2 (one in the middle and one on the left)
Secondly: I think I was asleep when the surgeon came to tell me about the op so I have no idea of what they actually found. She has scheduled an appointment for 6 weeks but I'm terrified I'm going to wait all that time to be told there's no endo.
I know it sounds awful but I am really hoping they found it so that there's finally an answer to everything.
Any thoughts or replies on any of this will be so appreciated ❤️💛

I had a similar situation where I woke up with only two incisions (I was instantly anxious / suspicious), I already had confirmation of Endometriosis from an ultrasound as an Endometrioma had been detected. I was given a really brief summary of my situation before I left hospital (more extensive surgery required) even knowing that the wait between surgery and the post op was agonising. So I really sympathise with your situation and the not knowing / uncertainty.
I was able to get a copy of the letter my consultant had sent to my GP whilst I waited for my post op which for me was a help as I was able to get a bit more information and digest that.
I started journaling what was going on in my head and making lists of questions I wanted to ask at my post op.
I also spoke to those closest to me about my worries and how I was feeling.
I found reaching out for support and talking about what was going on in my head really helpful - Endometrosis UK helpline could be a useful avenue of support, you can also self-refer to talking therapies through the NHS.
I cannot tell you the relief I felt after my post op, even though it wasn't the best news, having the information and being able to digest that and understand next steps really improved my mental wellbeing. I hope you are able to find some peace during the wait for your post op x
