endometriosis and bladder

hi, to cut a very long story short I’ve suffered with endometriosis for many many years and had 8 laparoscopic surgeries with my 7 having a hysterectomy (leaving ovaries) at age 31 and my 8th 11 months later having my left ovary removed due to endo and having pelvic congestion syndrome. I’ve had 4 wonderful years pain free but with the odd frequency/urgency of urine during ovulating times which only lasts 3 days at most.

5 weeks ago a flare up hit me hard! I’ve had 3 weeks worth of antibiotics to rule out any bacteria, infection etc even though urine, swabs etc have all been clear. Everyday I’ve had excruciating pelvic pain especially during bladder filling and on emptying which also causes burning and im not stop back and forth to the toilet, not fully passing in fact you may call it a teaspoon worth at best! I also have 2 lean forward, practically my head to my knees to pass urine. I will also mention I’ve had what I can only describe as some sort of spasm/ tightening along the pelvic area which is causing me to leak very small amounts of urine. I’ve had a referral made back to my consultant and I’m currently having to take a small amount of oral morphine to get comfortable of an evening/night as this seems to be the worse time. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced this and whether this is related to endometriosis. From research I’m convinced it’s IC but bladder endometriosis is also very similar. Any info would be much appreciated again, sorry for the long post.

thanks in advance.

Hi Deb.

Yes I get this regularly and also severe bowel symptoms. I am waiting on my first MRI scan as have only just been referred to endo clinic aged 40.

The spasms are likely pelvic floor tightening in response to pain. I have the awful pain and pressure in bladder premenstrually and during ovulation. When the bladder fills I get awful pain like you and burning..

I have been told for years all my bowel issues are IBS, which I may very well have secondary due to all the stress of being in constant pain..but I am sure it must be endo.
