Hi all!

I have been loosing a lot of hair now for nearly 3 years more than what we normally do it comes out in clumps also keep popping up in a lot of random bruises but I know I haven’t banged myself I’ve noticed them coming and happening more frequently I have been to the docs and had iron levels and all the works checked and they’ve no concerns just wondering if it could be endo related and if anyone else ever gets this?

Your body is signalling with the bruising easily and hair loss that it’s not happy. There will be reasons for this. You don’t say whether you are on any form of meds or hormones but that would be my first stop off and another in depth conversation with the GP with the firm statement that we haven’t yet got to the bottom of why this is happening and clearly my body is showing signs that things are remiss. Endo disease ( via increased levels of LPS are evidenced with adenomyosis and endometriosis sufferers) can mess with the conversion ability of the thyroid enzymes from T4 to active T3. This isn’t identifiable from a general blood screen for thyroid which only looks at TSH and at most T4 circulating levels. These are likely to appear normal as may the T3 levels when tested. The crux of the matter is the conversion and the absorption/ affixing to the receptors being blocked. Effectively tissue becomes hypothyroid whilst apparently appropriate levels circulate. It can be labelled by some as sick Euthyroid syndrome but that really doesn’t begin to tackle the issue. You possibly have PCOS ( from your profile) which can also point to issue in insulin resistance. There is some evidence that LPS ( please look up if you’re not familiar!) is at play here too. There are some studies that show LPS excess levels can be at play with the insulin resistance and both appear to respond to Berberine - which might be an indication that it’s a possibility for re invigorating the T4:T3 pathways but that’s gut supposition on that one given the LPS functions by blocking receptor enzymes for the insulin. Given Thyroid and Insulin problems are frequently co morbid it might be worth exploring.

Always rigorously check if any herbal / supplement/medication may interact with other products/medications taken and only try at low levels first. If you can’t check with the GP, use a friendly pharmacist to fully screen for you as they are able to access the relevant studies. This is a long shot but worth perhaps exploring alongside insisting your GP reviews the signs you have. Good luck 🤞
