Having such a difficult time and not sure what to do

I had a laparoscopy in Sept 2021 after years of struggling with pain and periods. The surgeon said (pre op) there was a cyst on one ovary but didn’t think it was endometriosis but would remove and see if it helped. During the operation he found endometriosis, removed the right ovary and tube and said that he treated other areas and I was cured. A month later I experienced pain on my left side and spoke to my surgeon, he prescribed me Amitriptyline and said it is not endometriosis. Six months post surgery I had a check up, I explained that I have had no end of trouble and in so much pain on my left side to the point I am bleeding and in pain if I have sex, I bleed after bowel movements and I had put on a stone so had stopped the medication as it is a side affect. The surgeon laughed and said well at least you won’t put on any more weight and told me to get some pelvic physio and discharged me. Since I have been in pain more than I am not, it is affecting my hips and my mental health. I have asked for a referral to an endometriosis specialist to get a second opinion but have been told there will be a long weight. To top it off I have just had to have pre-cancer cells removed last week following on from an abnormal smear and since this I have been in more pain. I am exhausted with it all and not sure where to turn. Sorry about the long post but any help and advice would be appreciated.

so sorry you are going through all of this. Your surgeon sounds like he isn’t very experienced in endo. There isn’t a “cure”. He also sounds very insensitive and that’s me being polite. Please push for a referral don’t accept anything less. I’ve learnt you have to be firm and tell the doctors what you need. Do not be fobbed off it is your body and your health.

thank you for your reply. I have been back on the phone to the doctor again today chasing up my referral and back on more medication and signed off work for another 4 weeks, just hoping to get a little relief from it all soon x
