I have been having severe pain during periods since I was 9. My pain is so severe that I need morphine on the first day of my period. I recently got an ultrasound followed by MRI and no evidence of endometriosis was seen on the scans. Do I go for a laparoscopy or just rule out endometriosis?

firstly I'm so sorry you've been experiencing such a high level of pain!
scans don't always pick up endo so I wouldn't rule it out just because of that. Did they also look for adenomyosis? That could be part of the picture here too (often goes hand in hand with endo)
I was in the same position as you a few years ago and I went for the surgery. I was in so much pain but nothing was showing up on scans. As they were putting me to sleep I remember thinking "what if I wake up and they tell me they found nothing?!"...but I woke up and they told me I had widespread endo that hadn't shown on any scans, as well as bowel endo.
