Hi all. I'm really at my wits end at the moment. I was diagnosed 2 years ago, received ablation surgery then and the last few months have been horrible and after a particularly bad flare up this week I've had to call in sick two days for a teaching assistant job I have just started through and agency. I really think I've messed it up, in hind sight should I have just pretended I had flu? I think so. I told them I've got a bit of an ongoing thing (I had brain fog) just wasn't thinking at all. I'm really worried I've messed up a wonderful opportunity through no fault of my own really. I think the point of my post is more of a rant, I'm just so sick of this getting in the way of my life. I'm currently on waiting list for excision surgery but this could be up to two years. Just feeling really exasperated.

Thanks for reading.

In my opinion, it's always best to be honest. What we have basically just really sucks and there are going to be times where we physically just can't do anything, but be in bed and sleep. From my own experience anyway. I'm a teacher and when my endo journey was starting, time off work started increasing and I had to have back to work meetings about why I was off so much. I also mentioned to them that I had spoken to my union to understand where I stood. My workplace have been very good actually. Without me being honest, they wouldn't know what was going on and therefore, they wouldn't have been so understanding. Sorry you're feeling this way, but it won't stop you being a fantastic teaching assistant, they just need to make allowances.
