please can anyone recommend any endometriosis friendly employers/job sites/companies to contact in regards to finding a job.
one of my biggest worries right now is if I’m going to be able to find a full time job where I won’t be dismissed if I need to take time off if I’m feeling extremely unwell with my endo.
or if there’s any alternative ways to make an income working from home/being self employed.
I’m currently recovering from my laparoscopy surgery but I feel so anxious and this kind of pressure about finding a new job asap especially with current cost of living crisis we’re all facing.

hi quietstorm1, i found that a job that offers working from home was the best option for me with endometriosis, it made it easier that i could be on my tens machine and/or my medication without other people being nosey. It also meant on bad days where i would have to normally call in sick as not safe enough to drive (45 minutesto work) i was still able to work drom home.
thank you so much. It’s been just over 2 weeks since I had my laparoscopy. I’m still sore around my stitches and unable to bend yet but I’m getting there slowly day by day. I hope to start looking and applying for jobs from maybe next week onwards depending how i feel and fingers crossed I’ll find something.
Do your company know about your endometriosis and have they been supportive? xx
hi, work are aware of my endometriosis yeah, and so far have been supportive. Although my periods an symptoms are getting worse.
Nothing officially has been documented at work.. That is the only Downside to my place of work. So ibe not had any welfare meetings or any return to works ect, but that works in my favour.
I wish you all the best in your employment search x
We have a list of Endometriosis Friendly Employers on our website, which can be found at endometriosis-uk.org/endome.... It's a list that we're working on growing as we raise awareness about the training we can offer to employers about endometriosis.
