Hi lovely endo warriors. I had a laparoscopy 4 weeks ago. Yesterday my consultant called me and we had a 30 minute conversation (I had to pinch myself as that has never happened before?) 😵
Anyway he explained everything he found in detail and went through all my options. Because of the extent of my endo which is severe he said he couldn't access my ovaries. He suggested having a hysterectomy.
I asked whether I can keep my ovary/ovaries and he said he would have to assess at the time depending on what they find. He would do his level best for me to keep one.
Im 41 and no plans on having kids and have stage 4 and DIE.
Im ok with the hysterectomy because I have fibroids too which are large and I know my uterus is basically a mess.
Anyone had this op before and willing to share how you felt? How long was your recovery? Do you have HRT with one ovary?
I also have a mucosa in my bladder which they need to remove and possibly one of the ureters connecting will need to be reattached.
The worst part is my bowel which is twisted and attached in 3 different places. Thats what they are most concerned about. So they are going to focus on restoring as much of my bladder and bowel.
I have been listed as P2 - what does that mean in the UK?
Im worried as im a single mum and worried about what I will be able to do after and how much time before I can return to work as the only income is mine.
Thank you in advance for reading. Hopefully I'll get some responses. 💜
