can’t have surgery until lost weight?

hello.

Has anybody been told they can’t have surgery due to their weight. I’m having to have a diagnostic laparoscopy.

I’ve had to switch consultants and was asked by waiting lists my height and weight and was told depending on my BMI the surgeon might not do it.

I’m currently on the Depo and I feel it makes me gain weight easily. My bmi is 32 but I’m incredibly active (do lots of watersports). And find it hard to lose.

has anybody else been denied due ti their weight. I’m really worried this may be the case.

regards,

Megan

Hi,

I did originally get told this but then i had an endometrioma that was very large. They did the surgery and my bmi was 36 at the time.

Hope the new surgeon doesn't go by bmi. I know the struggle of losing weight with endo. It seems impossible. Good luck x
