What bowel/bladder symptoms do you have?

Hello!

I am just wondering what bladder and bowel issued and symptoms your endo causes?

I am still waiting for a diagnostic lap but I didn’t really mention bowel/bladder issues I had to the gynaecologist as I was worried they’d think it be something else.

I currently get:

Painful wind

Stomach ache when needing to go for both bladder and bowel.

Pain when bladder is full

Stress incontinence (I’m also young and never had children and this worries me)

just wondering if anybody shares anything similar.

Thanks

Hi! Yes, all of the above, plus difficulty going and deep aches and/or stabbing pains after I’ve been 🙁 Also get cramps/urgency to go, even if there’s not much to come out…

hey, I'm the same, bloating, lots of wind, urgancy to go to the loo for a number 2 and then it can be painful to go plus the frequency of going goes up when I'm having a bad endo day. Make sure you tell your gynea tho as I have endo on my pouch of Douglas which they can't remove. Any symptoms ypu have can help with a diagnosis

thank you.

Wish I had mentioned it now.

I’m not going to see any Gynae now until probably the day of my surgery (whenever that may be)

you can still mention it then, and there's always the GP you can still talk to them until you get to see the.gynae. they will be able to see it as it'll be on your notes that they are supposed to read before seeing you.

Hi,

I have severe endometresiosis and a confirmed rectovaginal nodule. Symptoms are mostly pain defecation, constipation , inability to fully void. At menstruation I am prone to diarrhoea. More recently I have to take laxido ongoing to pass now until I can see the endometresiosis specialist to discuss options.

I do also get some bladder signs but they seem more so at ovulation/ menstruation, increased urinary urgency and some pain. However I'd also had a uti post operatively thus I am always quite vigilant of these signs and have dip sticks at home as the symptoms really overlap!

Make sure you write down symptoms you have. It's been really useful to keep a log of signs on a period tracker. Can actually see a cyclical pattern with mentruation having the most symptoms ( diarrhoea more likely) and ovulation having more severe constipation. These symptoms can overlap many conditions but if only linked or worse at menstruation/ ovulation it raises more suspicion for endometresiosis.

Ensure they know all symptoms, and cyclical changes linked to menstruation etc. See below NICE guidelines of endometresiosis symptoms- cyclical changes of bowel or bladder. These guidelines should be what doctors, gynae are following. Ensure you let them known all symptoms prior to Lap, any diagnostic imaging.

Have you had any imaging prior to your laporoscopy?
