Here are the symptoms I have tracked over the past year, which are all worsening:

* painful periods - make me feel sick, rolling around in pain

* chronic incredibly painful sharp stabbing pains in my abdomen during all times of the month, it happening is unpredictable but happens most days/multiple times a day - happens noticeably more during ovulation

* pain that radiates/shoots into thighs and lower back

* pain in lower abdomen during and after sex - the pain is deep in my stomach/abdomen

* the day before actual period begins I usually lose darker/old blood

* stomach pain during bowel movements, sometimes blood on toilet paper

* extreme bloating at all times, worse during period however noticeable and very painful every day

* general tiredness/lack of energy

headaches almost daily

* either an increase in bowel movements or constipation during period

* chronic pelvic pain

* occasional shooting pain in bottom - happens more during period

* weight gain

* fatigue

* wake up during the night with the stabbing stomach pain, especially during period

Could this be endo? How do I approach my GP and not get dismissed? What will the next steps be once I got to the GP?

Hi I have all of these symptoms and have been going back and forward to the GP for 3 years, I’ve finally changed GPs and they’ve referred me to the gynaecologist and colorectal team as I also have blood on toilet paper. I’ve also had bloods and stool samples etc which came back fine. Your GP will probably want to rule out other things and might send you for an ultrasound first but this will get the ball rolling. I wrote all my symptoms down on an econsult online and then they rang me back and did the referrals but I’ve been told the wait to be seen is very long so could be waiting a while

Just wanted to say I'm experiencing pretty much exactly what you are.I've been backwards and forwards with my gp and practice nurse with multiple infections, pain flare ups etcnand Ive finally had an appointment with 2 gynaecologists. I've opted for a sterilisation (nothing to do with this) and the surgeon is going to do an exploritory laproscopy at the same time.

I had pretty much all these all these symptoms. Speak to your GP and show them how you have been tracking it and ask for a referral to your Gynae. Xx

It most definitely sounds like endo. You should look up on the bsge website for your nearest hospital with an endo centre and ask your gp to be referred there. Good luck xx, in the meantime you should get stronger painkillers as it is a long process unfortunately.

I have most of these symptoms - finally had my gynae referral a couple of weeks ago, and have been put on a combination pill back-to-back for 4 months to see if my symptoms reduce when I don't have periods. So far the pill is having an odd effect on me and actually making some of my symptoms worse, so not sure what to make of that but going to discuss with my GP.

It is not until I joined this group a few days ago that I've seen how much it can also affect bowels - I've had chronic bowel issues since childhood but they got considerably worse when my periods started and are now very linked to my cycle. Good luck with the referral, hope you manage to get one soon.
