I just recently got diagnosed with diabetes and they have no idea what type I am or why! I’m only 22, no family history, not overweight or unhealthy, come out of completely nowhere! I even have specialists confused! I was told there might be a link with Endometriosis, I was hoping there was someone on here who could maybe help me out? Give me more information if they are in a similar situation!!
I got a suspected endometriosis diagnosis in August 2020, since then have had all gynaecology appointments over the phone or cancelled because the gynaecologist couldn’t be less interested in my situation. I got put on the Depo injection for endometriosis treatment in August 2020, and am still waiting to discuss surgery to find out for definite. I’m at a much higher risk for cervical cancer because of family history having it young, I’m receiving virtually no help from either doctors or hospitals, am very symptomatic and was just hoping someone could maybe help me out. I’ve tried to piece things together myself for the last 2 and a half years, but I genuinely am so confused and have no help.
Could someone please help me?

Hi! I’m a type 1 diabetic (since aged 3) and have endo. Did the Dr check your c-peptide levels? This usually helps identify what type. Generally if you’re insulin dependent it’s type 1 and controlled by diet / tablets type 2 but there are lots of other types that don’t necessarily make it easy to identify (type 3 / MoDY etc). Do you have an endocrinologist? Ask for a referral
Hallo, I’m type 2 diabetic with endo. My dad is also diabetic so I would be pre-disposed to it, but my endocrinologist was confused because I didn’t conform to the usual profile (for example, I was a little overweight but not enough to trigger the glucose intolerance found in other patients), so he had to double check I wasn’t type 1. Tests proved it’s type 2.I’d had IVF a few months before and had an extreme reaction to one particular injection (the one to release eggs). My belief is that it (my body’s reaction to a surge in hormones) may have triggered the diabetes, but I have no proof. Our bodies are a mystery.
My endocrinologist put me on a low carb diet and it’s helped enormously, both with my diabetes and endometriosis.
