Honestly; in my experience, no. I’m in a very similar situation. I phoned out of hours doc this week asking the same thing and they said as I have a diagnosis already all I would get is pain relief and then be discharged again, and that there was a 6 hour wait in my area. Ridiculous I know. Obviously you will know yourself if you’re at that point where it’s completely essential but to me that would only add to my pain and stress to potentially be given morphine and send home again. Sending strength to you. It’s an awful illness and we are truly treated so badly

I don't think it is worth it if you go to A and E you will sit there for 12 hours, with people with covid coughing all over you then eventually you will be seen by a junior doctor who doesn't know anything and offered opium. I went a few times years ago and that's what happened. I try to avoid it at all costs. You would be much better to book yourself in priavtely for a TV scan or MRI (it will take a few weeks) go back to your GP and ask about help for the pain they might give you diclofenac or something that will help in the short term.

Also book in with a good gynae if you want to be seen in a reasonable time frame that would have to be priavte too. This will you will get to see a specialist who knows about endo and knows what is going on if you have had a scan they will be able to see exactly what the problem is. Then they can tell you what treatment you need adn do something to help you.

I went to A and E three times when my endo first got really bad at no point did they let me see a gynae all they did was offer me a drip with morphine. I am allergic to morphine so this wasn't much use.

This country's health system is falling apart I took my very elderly aunt to A and E before covid with an infected gallbladder she is 86 and very frail she was left sitting on a chair and not given a bed for over 48 hours. The whole A and E dept was like some sory of Dickensian scene of misery.

Unfortunately, I also think not. Unknowingly, I had a 9cm chocolate cyst burst in September and they just drugged me up, sent me home and said to get an sti test. Ive been happily married for 15 years. I’ve contact pals about whether I should have been scanned and they’ve said no, policy was followed. Because my stomach was so distended and I was in pain gp sent me for ca125 blood test which was extremely high and that got me a fast track oncology appointment, with tv scan and then on to urgent surgery. It’s all Endo and not cancer or an sti…

Wishing you lots of luck with your journey x
