Can you call your gp?

I rang mine expressing concerns today and they are ringing me and 6.

They might be able to give advice.

It certainly saves me time instead of going to out of hrs gp

I don't have much experience with cysts, but if you're in agony and you're worried, then go. That's what they are there for. It's always better to be safe.

Trust your gut. If you think something isn't right, get help. I hope you're out of pain soon!

I have cysts and endometriosis it’s just crippling something isn’t right the clots are huge and the pain is constant it has been since last night I’m walking slowly and hunched over apparently it’s just not nice

I definitely know that feeling, doll. ❤️

Trust your body and your judgment of what's going on inside. There is no shame in going to the A&E just to be sure.

Go to a&e and explain ur history then there know where they need to b looking at ie ct , mri scan blah blah.

It may just b that ur having a bad period mine are like that every month till i went on transexamic acid which has saved my life and sanity.

So go.... see what happens, if they do all the test and nothing there it is just period mayb u need to get some tranexamic acid so when u come on u got them there

Lulububs in reply to Honorac

Yes very my husband used to find me laying on floor crying where i was in so much pain but the transexamic acid has changed my periods massively.

My clots were what was causing me so much pain it was tricking my body into causing labour pains as they were so big.

Now i just have normal periods, yeh they are crappy but i can still function

I’ve been crying at work , but couldn’t leave as I had a sickness review meeting as I’ve had too many days off sick due to it 😫

Im 42 and i have put up with it all for many years i know how awful it is...

Go to hosp put ur mind at rest tell them

U had cysts before and ur in agony... there do a scan or something. Even to rule out it nothing else ie apendicitus.

But then if it all ok u need to get to your gp and get urself some good meds or ur suffer for years!!

I got naproxen which i take couple days before im due on then cocodamol 30/500 mg and the tran acid and between the three of them i can totally cope now it just shame it taken all these years of suffereing

Honorac profile image
Honorac in reply to Lulububs

Naproxen doesn’t touch me and The co codamol make me ill it’s awful xx

Lulububs profile image
Lulububs in reply to Honorac

Oh no, yeh i told

My dr naproxen dont work but apparently there slow releasing So u do have to take them Before u come On for them

To work.

Cocodamol i found i must eat before i take them..Or i will Get stomach problems but now i do it all as im suposed to it works to a extent,

Im not saying Im fine but i can get by without laying On floor crying for two days... which Is a bonus.... but the biggest change was the acid , to me it was a bloody blessing...as it was the clots that killed me i literally thought i was having a baby

Please get yourself to a&e, I had dreadful pain during a period and it turned out to be a leaking ruptured cysts that I needed emergency surgery on, don't be fobbed off your the expert on your body. Good luck and go to get checked out xx

Get yourself to A&E!! You don't mess with burst cysts in my experience! It literally says on the NHS website to go to A&E if you experience severe or sudden pelvic pain! So I doubt they'll send you away especially with your medical history! Good luck and hope you get checked out xx

Yeh i agree she got to go to a&e asap!!!

I had similar on Friday and called 111, my GP got back to me and prescribed me some codrydramol which really helped. I normally take just paracetamol and ibuprofen when it's bad but I was doubled over and being sick as well as bleeding even tho I wasn't on. It went off after 12 hours altogether so I don't know what made it so extreme so fast.

Bye.

You can die from a nice ripe cyst especially if it bursts. Its rare but it happens and with your previous medical history. That's right put your coat on...........

Go to a and e best to be safe. I had a ruptured chocolate cyst and had to have emergency surgery but I’ve also gone a few months without a period then had very heavy and painful periods afterwards see if they can get you on tranexmic acid or on the pill microgynon the mini pill or depo injection some even have the marina coil but that doesn’t agree with everyone it’s about minamising the pain also naproxen and nefopam helps but you won’t be able to take tranexmic acid with naproxen as there both anti inflammatorys.

Also regarding work endo isn’t quite diagnosed in uk as a disability yet however you can still do something under the disability act at work by explaining the condition and that you are more likely to be in pain around your period I’m sure it’s on the endo website a template to give your employer or it explains it better how the disability act and endo works I’ll see if I can get you a link.

Update

Hi all I have a burst cyst again , they wanted to send me home yesterday but I said no as I was still in pain , they won’t do surgery as I had one in Feb and they don’t want to cause legions but tbh I just need to know how bad the endo is. Had 3 consultations one doctor said the pain was because of a period I asked for another opinion as I knew that wasn’t the case , the 2nd doctor shouted at me for being in pain and that it was just a period (I put a complaint agains him) and the 3rd consultant explained the pain was because of the cyst but he thinks I have ibs and I was like no I’ve been told I have endometriosis and he said I have to go on the pill then see a clinic person in a month , basically being fobbed off with painkillers

It’s so shit

Hi. It sounds unforgivable, the way you have been treated. Look on the nice.org website: in September this year the National guidelines for investigating and treating endometriosis were revised.. symptoms of IBS (cyclical) is now something that consultants and gps have to recognise if it come with heavy periods, as a likely part of the endometriosis itself. The guidelines state it should be investigated! This is a recent amendment so maybe the doctors u saw havent yet been made aware. The guidelines state these symptoms merit further investigation and a patient shouldnt just be diagnosed with ibs..(60-80% of endo comes with ibs symptoms from what ive read).

Complain!! I would write a complaint about the way you are being treated and the fact you are in chronic pain and yet being ignored.. send it to the hospital, to the NHS complaints procedure and also to the General Medical Council which is the Regulatory body. Even just copies of the same letter.

You could also contact endometriosisuk.org to ask for advice too.. their helpline is 0808 808 2227. Opening times are limited though: 12-1pm only today. Times are on their website. x
