Suffer from really bad endo pain and have been on tramadol for about 3-4 years. I'm finding it's really not cutting it anymore (as well as giving me crippling insomnia). I'm having a chat with my endo nurse on Monday and am hoping I can persuade her to tell my GP to prescribe me something stronger. I was wondering if anyone has found any meds stronger than tramadol without too terrible side effects?
Thanks x

There are different types of pain meds such as NSAIDS like diclofenac and nerve pain meds like amitryptyline. Some of these you could take in addition to tramadol. But I’m guessing that you will have tried a few different options before taking tramadol regularly as it is pretty strong . If it is not working for you now you might be better asking for referral to a pain specialist.
Everything has side effects, I certainly couldn’t tolerate taking tramadol regularly! I suppose they differ for everyone.
Do you have a treatment plan for the endo like more investigation, surgery, hormone treatments?
Hi, thanks for responding. I'm already on amitriptyline and am on a waiting list for surgery. I would have had it already if it wasn't for covid. Grr. Also having zoladex shots every 12 weeks but still in crippling pain.Guess I'll just chat to my nurse and see if she has any thoughts.
