IVF with endometriosis

Hi any advice on what to ask the Dr about the drugs given for ivf. Will it make my endo a lot worse? Does it depend how bad your endo is already?

Can anyone tell me about how bad I could feel during the process also. Feel like God clinic have told me nothing and I need to plan people to help out if I'm floored as husband always working/won't take time off

TIA

I think it depends on how bad your endo is, I just finished a failed cycle, 😞 the pain and discomfort of the ivf process was manageble, no worse the a the pain of a period. You will need support following egg retrieval so hope your husband or a family member can be there for you as the medications can make you very tired and stomach cramps were the worst for me in the 2 days before and 2 days after egg retrieval. Wishing you the best luck 😘

OK thank you that's really helpful. Sorry it was a failed cycle for you. Everyone is saying different things so not sure who to listen to!

Hi there, I have endo and an ovarian endometrioma (which is considered stage 4 I believe) I had 2 cycles of ivf and have had no issues, no worsening of symptoms etc. Wish you good luck xx

Thank you for your reply. Just panicking in the waiting stages! Everyone is different I guess. I'm not completely sure what stage mine is anyway but I'm still relatively young. So have to wait and see. Not going to stop me going ahead now either?! Thanks for the luck!

Hi. Hope you are doing ok. I was very concerned about how the medication would effect me ( stage 4 deep infiltrated endo with bladder and bowel complications, completely blocked tubs and one damaged ovary and one that was reconstructed and not expected to function). We were told from the start due to all the problems we had a very low chance of success but we knew we would always regret not trying so went ahead anyway. The clinic was brilliant and the consultant was actually a retired bsge specialist so I found this reassuring. We have family and friends that have been through ivf and have really struggled with the medication so I was expecting it to be awful but I was surprisingly fine, I was a bit uncomfortable the day or two before egg retrieval and the day or two after but otherwise for us it was much better than I was expecting and much to everyone’s surprise that very small chance happened first time and is a very energetic two year old😀. Good luck and if you have any questions just message me. Xx

Thanks so much! So pleased it was successful for you. That sounds OK. Talked with my dad today and he said if I don't try now I'll regret it. Also said I'm good with pain so can cope! The Dr that did my scan at the ivf company I thought was high up in the other private hospital! I guess they work across the hospitals. Would like to message you next week maybe after my appointment if that's OK x
