Recently had a call from bowel surgeon which was very very helpful. And they’ve referred me for a flexible sigmoidoscopy, has any body else had this?
I’ve noticed yesterday when I opened my bowels there was like a jelly and what looked like blood. I do get blood from bowel but not like this before only usually as I wipe? Also get some much bloatin! Almost everyday! And horrible rectum sharp pains (don’t have to be on toilet for this)
Does anyone else have similar pleSe ?

Thankyou! I’m wrecking my brain! It’s driving me insane. Sometimes I go every day to toilet then sometimes won’t go for few days… bowel surgeon said either bowel endo or chrones but to my knowledge chrones makes people really slim? And I’m not slim
My GP is testing me for IBD so ulcerative colitis or chrons. Waiting for a phonecall. I am also not slim…unsure if that is true tbh. I know someone with ulcerative colitis and they’re not slim either.
Sending you love because I’m a bit unsure how to help. Sometimes it feels like I am trying to poop out my uterus…..sometimes constipation and sometimes an upset stomach.
There’s a great Facebook group called “You’ve gut this”. Such things as bloat friendly outfits, which I love seeing as it gives me hope.
Waiting for my second Laparoscopy and excision surgery. The fatigue, the pain, bowel and bladder symptoms are crippling! Along with anxiety and depression 🙄
Hi yes I’m 6 years down the line and still no diagnosis. I’ve had 2 laparoscopies, a flexi sigmoidoscopy and a full colonoscopy. I bleed from by bottom each month and occasionally have had small clots. Also get bloating and slight constipation the week before. They said if the colonoscopy is clear then they would put it down to IBS (it was clear). I’m now thinking of going private and booking an appointment to see endo specialist. The flexi sigmoidoscopy wasn’t painful, was slightly uncomfortable but had gas and air which helped. Good luck 🤞🏻
Colonoscopy or sigmoid oscopy wont pick up endo in bowel as they check inside of th e bowel. I had both and it was missed now have huge lump of endo in bowel and have to have big chunk of bowel cut out. Go to see Professor Jurkovic in London went there yesterday and scan was so much more detailed than anywhere else I have been to.
Sigmoid oscopy and colooscopy usually miss endo in the bowel as it is growing on the outside of the bowel not the inside so you may well be told you are clear when you aren't better to have MRI or TV Ultrasound. Try a specialist sonographer for endo.
