I wondered if anyone has had specialised counselling that dealt with chronic pain, multiple operations, complications and infertility. I think that I really need counselling but I want someone who understands what I've been though.
Specialised Counselling: I wondered if... - Endometriosis UK
Specialised Counselling
Hi veggiegal
With regards to accessing specialised counselling, one option would be to get a referral from your GP. Hopefully they'll be able to suggest someone that closely meets your needs.
The other option would be to take a look at the national register of psychotherapists and counsellors. You can search by area and scroll down the results to see the individual who fits your requirements. The website is counselling-directory.org.uk
Aside from the above, I'd also recommend joining one of our face-to-face support groups so you can discuss endometriosis and associated issues with other sufferers. To find out if there's one in your area, please visit endometriosis-uk.org/find-a.... If there isn't one in your area, we also have an online support group.
Wishing you the best of luck with your search.
Hello, just wanted to share with you that I take counseling/therapy on regular basis as it is part of my personal plan on pain managment. Emotional suppresion is a big factor for me on the severity of my pain. Is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Best of luck and you will never regret it
