My GP wants to prescribe it for me to try. I'm late 30s and have both PCOS and endo. The main symptom she wants to prescribe it for is my mood swings as I have really severe PMS (but only 4 or 5 times a year as my periods are irregular). I can't take the combined pill due to past DVT. I would like to know has anyone actually had a positive experience of taking the 'mini pill'? I get the impression from a quick search that it may only make me worse and cause unpleasant side effects, so I'm right now I don't want to take it.
I would be interested to hear if it has helped anyone and why? Thank you in advance!

I have! I've been on the mini pill for nearly a year now and I'm getting on really well with it. I felt quite moody for the first few weeks but after that it's been great. I don't have bad PMS as such but I do have anxiety that gets worse when my period is due, and since going on the mini pill that's settled down a lot because I'm not having periods any more. Like any medication it's not for everyone, but it works for me.
Thank you for your reply! That's good to know that someone has had a positive experience and it's great it has helped helped your anxiety. Have you had any other side-effects? I'm worried about possible weight gain as I had that from the combined pill years ago.
I haven't noticed any weight gain, though I tend not to see much weight change from medication anyway. I think there's been a bit of a reduction in sex drive but not on the same level as the combined pill and tbh being in pain has more of an effect on that than meds do.
