I recently had stage 4 endo excised and we are trying to conceive. I'm still experiencing awful ovulation pain - but every medicine I've been suggested seems to say it can't be taken when trying to conceive as it can stop ovulating. Does anyone have any advice about anything they've taken that doesn't interfere with this or helps with the pain?

Pain relief when trying to conceive
Hi becks29
Sorry to hear you're experiencing pain on ovulation. We have a really useful document on our website that can be found at endometriosis-uk.org/endome.... It's an 'Endometriosis Treatment Information Pack' and it contains loads of suggestions that you may not have considered for pain relief.
Trying to conceive can be a stressful process, so it's also worth checking out the complementary therapies mentioned at the bottom of the same document. Hopefully you'll find one or two suggestions that really work for you in terms of reducing pain and boosting your sense of wellbeing.
Very best of luck!
I'm not sure what you might have tried already for the pain, but making some diet changes might help. A general anti-inflammatory diet can be useful, and then work out if particular foods make your pain worse, for example, for me it was wheat, sugar, alcohol and caffeine.
Supplements can help too, but it would be best to see a nutritional therapist for advice to ensure you are also supporting conception. Acupuncture or homeopathy can also help with pain. Good luck.
Ovulation is always painful to me too, even after excision for stage 4 endo. I feel you, it was hard when trying to conceive (which happened naturally-there is hope!). Although the pain was always there, there was a number of things that helped to manage the pain: dietary changes, drinking fresh ginger tea, arvigo massage, vitamins, yoga-check out YogaYin channel for related videos. I hope this helps! If I can help with anything, let me know. I am wishing you all the best luck❤
