**TMI trigger warning - orgasms**

For a long time now I've found that when I orgasm, I'm in immense pain immediately afterwards. It feels like (what I'd imagine) early labour contractions feel like, and it's completely debilitating. It usually lasts a minute or sometimes a little longer and I feel a strong ache afterwards for a short while too. If I'm on my own, most times the pain brings me to tears. It used to only happen at certain times of the month but now it's constant and guaranteed every time. Does anyone know if this is endo related? Or does anybody have any similar experiences? Tia!

Im so sorry this is happening to you, being able to have a pain free orgasm should be standard.I dont know if its endo related, although i imagine it probably is as to orgasm your pelvic muscles conract!

I have the opposite in that sex can be quite uncomfortable when im having a flare up but the orgasm works as a good pain killer, for at least an hour or two after!

I hope you get some answers xxxx

I have a lot of pain after orgasm - as said above, I think it might be due to the uterus contracting which sets something off and causes pain!

I get a lot of pain as well during and after. Can take days sometimes to fully recover and it puts you off from wanting to do anything when you know you're going to be in pain. I've been diagnosed with adenomyosis as well as endo in other areas.Have you spoken to your GP about it?

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing this. You are definitely not alone, I get this! The tummy ache afterwards is very short lived but can be very painful. My feet also burn up🙈😂

My gynae recently told me that it’s due to neuropathic pain caused by endo?

This happened to me . I’m now 61 in couple of weeks . It wasn’t just that . . The endometriosis is Still there causing pain . The scaring and endometriosis is everywhere causing pain when I was intimate with my then husband . I wasn’t diagnosed till I was in my 20s so I always thought sex was just painful for me . My Ex husband left because I could cope with the pain of sex anymore.. Your not normal he sad time and time again! I’m lucky to have 2 beautiful Daughters and grandchildren . They were worth the pain They have not in inherited endorsements. Thank goodness . Anyway pain when having sex ?? Sorry yes . 😞There isn’t enough research into this . We are woman and it doesn’t seem to be important.. Fight ladies for pain relief drugs and also for Endometriosis to be known as debilitating .. One / two weeks a month I was ok , I could cope with the pain . So fight ladies it needs to be spoken out about . I was told as teen ! You have a low thread hold of pain . “run around the field at school that’s helps ! as I passed out “! Best one “ you can’t have your period for this long! You are going swimming !” It has to change !! Sorry very angry as I still have so much scaring and pain at my age . Fight ladies 💐

Hi, Yes this was one of my earliest symptoms and I didn’t have a clue what it was. Like you say it is immensely painful and I would often consider telling my partner I needed a&e the pain was that bad. Then it would pass. I went to see the endo consultant and he examined me and pushed somewhere and I nearly shot off the bed. He told me it was endo related. I used to get it after ovulation. I had lap in June this year and they removed my left ovary due to endo and excised stage 4 endo, since then I haven’t had the pain again. Sorry you’re experiencing this it is horrendous pain and yes feels like a contraction or muscle spasm xx
