I've been experiencing lower back/tailbone pain for 8 weeks. Since having a bladder prolapse 2 years ago, I get occasional discomfort in my rectum, but for the past few weeks this has become more intense and constant.
I had a scan for fibroids which came back clear, but am wondering whether I could have endometriosis? I don't have painful period cramps but get pain in my bum during my periods too and since having children I have a heavier bleed.
I do have a lower back injury but it doesn't usually give me this type of pain/discomfort.

I had exactly the same problems and they just got worse and worse. I ended up with MRIs, CTs, you name it. They found disc erosion and an elongated coccyx. However, I also had terrible periods (heavy, clotting, and eventually haemorrhaging for up to 12 weeks,) and inflammatory bowel issues
It turned out to be adenomyosis. I had a hysterectomy after four years of being unable to sit or stand for any period of time. The rectal pain and hip pain (bowel issues and other pains) eased within two weeks' of surgery. My back pain is now just achy rather than excruciating and the coccyx pain only comes on after long periods of sitting. My bowels returned to normal almost immediately.
If you're having menstruation issues, it might be worth asking about adenomyosis - many gynaes are still not very clued up on it, so you may need to do some research yourself first. I was told it was fibroids (lab report on uterus came back as clear for fibroids but extensive adenomyosis and hyperplasia - and three times normal size)
It could be endo or adenomysiosis. I had endo an an operation for it six years ago then got terrible lower back pain and pain that went down into my hip and the right down near my tail bone. I couldn't sit either and standing is still painful if I stay in one place. I had an MRI and I had endo all along my uteroscaral ligaments and right through my bowel and I have been told I have adenomysiosis. I spent ages thinking the pain could not be endo as it was in my back but apperntly it is quite common. See a gynae and get a scan.
Thank you, I'm getting an MRI soon to check my lower back and pelvis because I have an existing back injury, so hopefully that will give me some idea of the cause of the pain!
