Mirena that’s moved

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone had experience of a dislodged Mirena?

I had a smear and was told they couldn’t see or feel my coil, I’ve now been referred to have an internal ultrasound.

I experienced a lot of pain yesterday and the doctor mentioned a chance of ectopic pregnancy, but wouldn’t send me to hospital unless I had a fever.

Naturally I am anxious, and wondered if anyone has been through the same thing? X

Hi, Yes mine had moved, it was shown on my ultrasound and I had to have minor surgery to have it removed. Safe to say I didn’t have it again!

Hi! What sort of pain did you have? I’m concerned mine might have moved as well. Hope you’re ok!

Real severe cramps, mainly in the left hand side. I couldn’t stand up straight a few times. They did manage to find it on the ultra sound, but I am going to have it taken out anyway I think! Hope you’re okay too! Xx

Thank you for getting back to me! Mine is also on the left hand side but doesn’t sound as severe as what you experienced! Glad you managed to get it sorted 💕 xx

Hi see my previous threads, I was exactly same as you but they just said my strings were short. After 5 years I was due to have it out. 2 attempts at docs and they couldn't remove it. Gynaecologist tried and failed so said I would need to go back to her and try under local and try Hysteroscopy. She failed and when looking on camera they could see the strings were fully wrapped around the coil and embedded in my uterus lining. So it was stuck. She put a referral to hospital to have it removed under general which happened yesterday and they moved it without any complications.
