Hi all, I’ve recently had an MRI that revealed adenomyosis and endo in the pouch of Douglas. I’m currently on the Cerelle mini pill, which hasn’t been helping.
My endo specialist has given me three options to move forward, and I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has tried any of these and how they got on with them.
1) Depo Provera (contraceptive injection)
2) Zoladex (injection to induce menopause, plus HRT I believe) on a three month trial
3) Laparoscopy (potentially with insertion of mirena coil)
I’m 24 and want to prevent the pain from getting worse, and would like to have children some day.
Thank you all x

Hello, just wanted to share my experience as it’s similar and we are close in age!
I was given similar options, but contraceptive pills (tried them all now!) rather than injection.
I had a laparoscopy in Feb 2020, which was good in terms of getting a firm diagnosis. However, if you do go down this route try make sure it’s an endometriosis specialist rather than general gynae. I wish I had at the time as I’m now back to square one fighting for an appointment with a specialist whilst being in daily pain!
I didn’t go with zoladex as it scared me the thought of putting my body into early menopause as I was 24 at the time (now 25).
The good thing about a laparoscopy is the diagnosis and removal of endo if done properly. I had the coil fitted 6 months after the laparoscopy and have only had one period, although all other symptoms (bloating, pain, back ache, acne etc) are still there.
I hope whatever option you choose you get some answers and relief!
