Looking for early day advice ?

Hi all,

So I am 28yr and 2 years ago got told I have IIH what means the pressure in my spine / brain gets too high and push’s on my brain mimicking a tumour…. It sounds awful but coming off the pill seems to have kept it under control.

Since coming off the pill I have a million other issues it seems. I really can’t justify going back on it as yes this is all painful but iih can make you lose your sight and 2/3 days a month crying in bed is nothing compared to the thought of that.

Covid has slowed down my ability to get help off GP etc. I have made a little list of my main side effects below I just want to know how you approached your GP to get support?

Symptoms

- [ ] Bleed through pads onto clothes

- [ ] Vomit because of cramp

- [ ] Badly constipated but then get diarrhoea

- [ ] Pain can make me scream only co codamol and bath

- [ ] Can’t sleep because of pain

- [ ] Stress seems to make it feel lot worse

- [ ] Very badly bloated go from size 16 when on to a size 12 when not

- [ ] Gained a lot of weight even off pill eating healthy and going to gym

- [ ] Lose my appetite

- [ ] When on period I feel like been hit by truck and have no energy

I am not really interested in having a baby right now my wedding is Boxing Day and it wouldn’t be a fit for work etc. But for 2 years been on no contraception and no baby. I’m not sure if the pain or the lack or pregnancy would make them more willing to help? In past just been told it’s stress and to basically take pain killers but it’s getting worse.

Thanks ps I have attached a photo of my dog because he’s the one thing keeping me fighting every day when I feel like I can’t get up! And he seems to know when I’m bad because he “holds my hand”
