Us Women need Support with providing Sanitary on an Incontinent Level for the Excessive Bleeding!

Hi,

I'm hoping to be pointed in the right direction or see if we can get help anywhere?

I was offered help with incontinent sanitary from Bladder and Bowel for my excessive bleeding! But the boss has returned and is refusing to help me :-(

Surely I am not the only one that is in need of Support in this category?

Knowing the bleeding is excessive and changing every hour, providing sanitary is getting beyond the joke!

I've been buying ones from Gumtree off people selling incontinent pads... Tena Comfort or Tena Incontinent! These have been helping me get through the night, allowing me to have a proper nights sleep without the fear of flooding my bed.

Women with excessive bleeding need support too!

Not just disabled, elderly or people with bladder & bowel problems, whom are the only people entitled to help with Sanitary :-(

If anybody knows of any petition or anything that needs signatures to help women get the right TLC - Support - Sanitary etc... which allows us to have an inch of our lives back, please let me know

I don't know the answer I can only empathise. Doctors maintained I only lost a tablespoon and it was just fluids making it look bad, I spent years never knowing when I could travel, when I could leave the house for more than 10 mins, finding dark clothes that I could wear safely and embarrassment at having to leave even short meetings several times. I wish they had additional sinks in loos too, how are you supposed to deal with it when 'super plus extra' only last 10 mins? Do tell your doctor how incapacitating it is and don't be fobbed off like I was, I was diagnosed with endo over 30 years after first going to my GP with problems , and only by accident, during an op. I can seriously understand how they have you messed about for 30 years I feel exactly the same...

I've ruined 2 new sofa's, I got rid of the 1st one and insured the 2nd, I'm having to get the insurance to replace the seating area, as I've done the same again!

It's so upsetting even if I stay home. Like you say we can't leave the house, as soon as I go anywhere, i fear I will flood the place! I'm so tempted to just roll up at the GP surgery and let my situation make a mess of their waiting room. I seriously don't think they understand how much blood we lose plus how weak it makes us too.

I've been taking metatone tonic to revive my body, i feel less drowsy and stay awake longer after taking it.

I'm waiting for the Gynae at the hospital, i've had blood tests, smears, scan and internal camera. The receptionist says both scan and camera came back as normal?

Now i got to wait for my Gynae appointment! The waiting game!

If the next stage doesn't get to the bottom of my situation, i feel i will crack up

Don't give up, they really don't get it and I realise now the first few visits they hope it will sort itself out so fob you off. I didn't realise there was a tactic there when younger. I think I probably had bouts of anaemia due to the blood loss, which isn't good long term. I never knew when it would start, impossible to plan your work or holidays or even a meal out, all accompanied by excruciating pain X

I will keep pursuing, 30 years is a long time to wait for them to recognise your situation!

Staying strong helps, Metatone has helped me loads, I take Gabapentin for pain its not addictive, but it only takes the edge off.

The best pain relief I have tried was CBD Oil from OKCBD, it worked for my lower back pain too.

But that was costly so I had to take a break from that

I so understand, sadly have experienced excessive bleeding for 3 years now, and seems never ending, complex endo and intersex issues.

Constant use of "period pants" - which have got better designed over the years. Even M&S have their own ones now, - I assume you have tried - sadly not many of them have wide enough gusset to ease the constant use and need to ALSO use pads as well.

HRT treatments have only made my issues worse, and every option the GP or Gyno recommends has done little..

I do urge you to advise your GP how bad it is making your life, and suggest you get to see an Endocrinologist asap - ask GP for referral, they can assess your hormone levels so much better than a GP etc, and may come up with alternative options, and suggestions -

I have an endocrinologist due to me intersex issues, and DO suggest you seek one out, DO NOT LET YOUR GP say u do not need... u have right to be referred via NHS.

Sadly many GPs do not take the issues of excessive bleeding seriously. But my life is hell due to it, - and I live as male - (Long story)

I wear period pants with the Tena Incontinent. This is the only way I have stopped the leaks, prevents damaging my furniture etc...

I feel we need to be recognised on an incontinent level so we can get the right help and TLC we need!

It must be dreadful for you and can't imagine how embarrassing it is for you especially when people see a man going through excessive bleeding?

The Tena Incontinent that I use are unisex and will be suitable for you, i bought mine off a man on Gumtree

Yes believe me, it is a daily issue, mainly relying on period pants, pads and tampons.

The tena items are not great in my experience.

You are right that such excessive bleeding should be recognised more by employers and health authorities.

The causes can be assessed - and I do encourage you to seek out an endocrinologist.

My endocrinologist has been great - my hormones are all over the place ...

The Tena Incontinent I use are large super. Not sure if you've tried them?

yes, believe me, not many pads, period pants, cups, tampons that I have not tried.

Often a combination of them as well. I am a leaky human. Excessive bleeding primarily due to ENDO issues.

It is directly linked to hormone issues coupled with ENDO, my endocrinologist is working on options and trial and error.

I fear we cannot just rely on sanitary protection and hormones can have an affect.

I know what you mean, i use super plus tampon, tena's and period pants, this gets me a couple of hours sleep, instead of changing hourly. Although it does feel i'm still constantly changing. I've been put on the mini pill too. This has reduced my bleeding but not much

Yes clearly they are trying the hormone balance option, have you had full hysterectomy ? I understand that is radical option, my issues have meant they have not recommended that, yet for me.

I feel for you, and sadly I sense many are in same state.

No I've not had hysterectomy... I've had one child 20 years ago. I did have contraceptive injections after having a child, that made me bleed heavily then it stopped permanently . That was the only time i managed to go without any bleeding at all. But i got fed up of having to go to the nurse every 3 months to have an injection in my buttocks... Plus the new doctors i started using had a different brand. It made me gain weight rapidly

I do fear that you may end up having to undergo a full hysterectomy to bring the excessive bleeding to an end, - I strongly suggest you get a referral to an endocrinologist, who may be able to ascertain if there are other hormonal affects that can be adjusted. I do feel for you....
