Waiting in pain for the laparoscopy date

I was in emergency a few times due to fainting and very severe pain. I heard from them that I should not come any more to hospital, but wait at home for the letter, and in case of pains I should take painkillers because they would not help me. This is a drama.

My fiance works in the afternoon and not in the house for almost 10 hours. During this time I am alone at home, I have passed out from pain many times, I have fallen many times.

On 19th May, I had a pre-appointment visit. They did some research and sent me home. I got a couple of brochures explaining what this would all look like. I also got a sheet of paper with "Your Personal Pre-Operative Care Plan".

It has been almost 5 weeks since then and still quiet, I called the hospital and all I found out was that I am still on the priority list and that I have to wait for the letter. Does anyone know how long need to wait? Another 6-12 months?

I have more and more problems with my health because of this pain. I am constantly tired, sleepy, faint due to pain because even tramadol is not able to help me. I have severe headaches and migraines, can't even pee. It is brutal that they hold me like this. I'm sick of this life already.

Hi Nancin, I can totally empathise and I'm sorry you're struggling so much. Firstly I just want to say that you're not alone, and I know how rough all this is so please be kind to yourself and remember what a fucking warrior you are!

Right, are you using an non tablet forms of relief? Things like a TENS machine, hot water bottle, heat pad, cool packs, tiger balm, deep heat? I pretty much use everything I can get my hands on, I use CBD oil, cannabis (i know its illegal, but it gives me relief so I don't really care lol), heated pad which i can plug in and just sit on all day, hot water bottle for my stomach plus a tens machine for my legs/belly too.

Medicine wise I take dihydrocodeine 12 hour slow release, 1000mg brufen retard (anti-inflammatory), paracetamol (paracetamol makes opioids work faster and better, so always use them along side stronger relief) and oramorph when things are bad (lately every single day 🙄). So maybe have a chat with your GP and see if there is a different painkiller you can go on that's better than what you have now? Might be worth chatting to them. Honestly none of it takes the pain away totally, but it takes the edge off and I try breathe through the rest.

Sending you a huge huge gentle hug, I know it's all crap and you're struggling but you are a tough cookie and you can do this. Keep pestering the gyne for your lap to be done, they shouldn't just leave you in pain so you have every right to chase them 😘 but in the mean time I hope the things I've told you bring some kind of relief xxx

@CryBaby91

I have omeprazole because I have been taking naproxen 500mg for 2-3 years along with tramadol 50mg. I also use a hot water bottle. Unfortunately that doesn't help. I also had a bottle of morphine, which did not help with severe pain. I also get ProStap every 3 months and use Tibolone tablets too, but I still have period cramps and brown spotting every month anyway.

My GP is great, prescribes pills for me, if I ask I also have blood, urine and ultrasound tests with no problem. He also wrote many letters to the hospital about me to speed up everything, but the hospital apparently has other plans... I don't understand how doctors can still ignore our disease and pain.

@dodgeviperdiva

Last year I had a break from work for almost half a year, I came back for a few months and then the pain intensified again and I started going to work 2-3 days a week. Currently, I haven't been working again for about 2 months, because even going to the store and returning home makes me incapable of functioning due to pain.

Thank you for your support and encouragement, hope all is well. Kisses and hugs.
