I posted a few days ago leading up to my surgery, today was my operation it went very smoothly and all the staff where lovely and made me feel comfortable and safe.
They informed me no endo was found they checked both ovaries and all the organs surrounding. They are saying possible IBS even tho I have had several tests and scans already checking for this before.
I am happy I have had the surgery (as I was waiting two year on referral list and was in pain for 5 years+) . There was no endo found but now I am still confused as I do not know what the issue is.
I am now in the recovery side and was wondering if anyone had any DO’s and DO NOT’s as I want to be super woman and carry on with my day to day activities, I am less than 5 hours after my operation and think I will heal quickly (wishful thinking). I need someone to hit me with a BIG reality check aha because I know I need rest but I also can not rest due to my mind running in circles.
Thank you for everything you lovely lovely people ❤️Xxx

Take it easy even if u feel ok as they do a lot of prodding about inside that you can’t see. It must be very frustrating not to have answers, I have been suffering since age 12 and was diagnosed aged 40 so I get the stress. Don’t give up and keep going until you find answers although it’s so tiring as we should not be left living in pain and not listened to. Hope u feel better soon xx
I'm sorry you're still struggling, and I hope they can start looking into other causes that you haven't already ruled out! As for surgery, I had my op 2.5 weeks ago (stage 4 endo plus pcos, so different things done, but still). The fatigue is huge, and something my stepmother mentioned (as a healthcare professional herself) is that it takes 6 weeks for your body to replace a pint of blood, including when you donate it. Operations result in blood loss, so even if you're not in pain, take it easy so your body can heal in ways you may not realise it needs to.
As for leaving the hospital, starting daily normal activity again, etc., I recommend doing all of it when the doctors recommend you do. There's no rush, and your work and family should be understanding that you just had major abdominal surgery. Trying to do too much too quickly will tire you out and may lead to a trip to A&E if you push yourself too hard. Your body just went through major physical trauma and you are undergoing medical trauma in remaining undiagnosed and still in pain - be kind to yourself!
Glad to hear your op went well, but please take it easy, the pain meds you would have been given can mask what your body has been through. I had no pain straight after my op but boy did I feel sore the next day. I would say after a week you should be feeling much better and by week 2 pretty much recovered, but everyone is different so be patient and rest up. Like you they found no evidence from the op of endo or cysts but I changed to a different specialist who sent me for an MRI and deep endo on the back of my uterus (pouch of douglas) was found so don't give up, keep asking questions as there must be a reason for your symptoms. Wishing you a speedy recovery, hope you get the answers you need x
