Lower back ache after laproscopy

Morning all... I hope that you are ok!

I finally had my laproscopy on Tuesday, (cancelled March 2020) was literally last minute call from the hospital (6 days) so everything has been a whirlwind for me. The little things like getting my house sorted, work, mind set and finding someone to look after me for a few days (I guess not little things really) The op went well I believe. I've done nothing but sleep.. which is a big thing as I'm terrible with sleep. I get up in the evening for my tea but I'm so uncomfortable sat up right. Has anyone else experienced their lower back/bum area ache after the procedure, and what did you do to help? Or any suggestions please? Hoping to sit/lay out in my garden today... the sun is shining ☀️🎗💪

Hey, I'm so glad you finally managed to get your lap you've been waiting for!

I had back and bum ache for a while but it was mainly down to laying/reclined in bed. I'd try and get up every now and then even if it was to literally walk to the bedroom door and back again. Changing positions and keeping ontop of pain meds!

I'm 2 weeks post op - even though I'm "back to normal" I'm still taking pain meds every now and then for that lingering pain if I've done too much in the day.

Hopefully you feel better soon

Thank you so much, I guess its early days and body is adjusting. I've been having a little walk around... and bearing the pain... hopefully will settle down.. I guess need to be less impatient. I hope that you are ok, and your pain eases with time also.

Hello Avalonlea,

I agree with Hunter-23 your back pain could be due to lying down too much and you need to move a little more. I also want to add to make sure to keep your fluids up and your bowels moving and not get constipated as it can cause the same pain too.

Wishing you a speedy recovery

Yes definitely keep hydrated and bowels moving! I didn't pass a BM for 8 days and it felt like it was crippling me

Hello dear, I am so sorry to know of your backache. It is highly disturbing and discomforting. In normal conditions you would only feel some tenderness and tiredness but not this severe pain. Consult your doctor and there is nothing serious to worry about then please increase protein in your diet. It Helps in healing fast. I am also working on getting diagnosed currently so I have not been told by a doctor the reason for my pain. However, I do get pain in my right hip, leg and lower back. At times also on my left side. When I had an internal ultrasound the tech had to kind of search for my right ovary, and when he found it I got like a spreading ache internally and a bit in my back. I would say it felt like when you get punched in the stomach, moving outward in a web.. I wish you luck and relief….👍✌️

It could well be due to where they removed endo from or what they had to move to get at endo. Lower back and pain into legs is common with endo on Uterosacral ligaments and when it’s excised it can really aggravate that pain for a few weeks.
