I new here and I think I might have endometriosis, not sure what to do/where to go?

I am 21, and since this time last year, I've experienced a confusing combination of symptoms. This included fatigue, joint pain/aches, irritability, migraines (weekly to the point I had to stay in bed), nausea, blood when wiping (rectal) and then my period changed. I have had my period since I was about ten, it hasn't been clockwork but it is pretty consistent. I did lose about 15-17 kg from Aug 2019-June 2020 (went from 82 kg to 65-67kg).

I've been lucky with them being light and only lasting four days on average. Until last year when they suddenly got heavier. They began last five to six days which wasn't a problem. Except for the pain. I never experienced bad cramps, but now I have at least two days where I struggle to do things. I end up sitting on my bathroom floor, a mixture of feeling and getting ready to be sick and feeling like I cannot leave the toilet.

The doctor last summer tested my thyroid which was normal. Another doctor tested me for Celiac and IBS, which came back normal but I had low iron. I was put on iron supplements and I now have normal iron. I was put on propranolol for my migraines and I have also got tablets to try for a couple of months for nausea and pain during my period. I have got naproxen and codydramol (?) for hypermobile joint pain but I don't feel it works anymore.

I was describing my symptoms to my boss who has endometriosis, who said that it sounded like her when she was younger. My mother has voiced concern that it could possibly be endometriosis too, noting that I have a fraternal cousin who has it.

I am unsure what to do, where to go from here. I am going to try the tablets I have been given before I go back to the doctor I think. Part of me feels like I am just being a hypochondriac or have Munchausen's as it feels like all I am doing is going back and fore to the doctors for something that is all in my head.

Thank you for reading and for any responses.

Hi. I’m 20 and was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 16. I think the best advice is that you know your own body better than anyone. If you think that something isn’t working or something isn’t right, keep pushing. Perhaps ask your doctor for a referral to a gynaecologist. They will be able to better help you with a diagnosis and further help x

From your symptoms it can be anything really.First things first Get referred as Dottysloth suggested and the gynae will take it from there. Most Gp,s just have general knowledge so it is your right to refused trial and error medication and ask politely to be sent to a specialist.Good luck and hope it all gets sorted soon.
