Prescribed zoldex for endometriosis and hyperplasia age 27 .......Anyone else been on zoldex 3.6 for more than the 6 months advised ... I was originally told that I could have it for 6 months due to side effect up till my hystorectomy that was booked in April 2020 ... iv just had my 20th injection 😪 .... no dexa scans no bloods ... no checks at all .... my hystorectomy has been cancelled twice due to covid last April and December .... iv started getting pain on my right side again ... my mental health is in pieces .. I feel like this is never going to end ..... and no one wants to give me a straight answer to any questions that I have .....

Hi Elizal

I previously had Zoladex, I had the injections for five months ( 2 1 month, and 1 3 month), I was then lucky enough to get a cancellation for a laparoscopy. Mine was done through the pelvic pain nurse at a BSGE centre and when I asked if it could be used for longer than six months, as that was what I had read, I was told that they had women who had been on it for several years with regular checks. Hope this helps. Maybe enquire with your GP if you can have the tests needed via referral?

HiI've been on zoladex injections now since Jan 2020, I was told that I can be on these injections for up to three years. I'm also due to have a hysterectomy like yourself, mine was due to be done last year but due to covid it's been postponed. I did phone the consultant late last year to find out how long the delay is now and was told that he hadn't even been given the green light to start operating again, so goodness knows when that will happen.

My suggestion to you is to push back on your Dr and consultant and keep pushing until you're happy. You've mentioned that you're in pain so please go and get that checked out sooner rather than later.

Hope you get an answer or an appointment soon, take care and stay safe.

I am on Zoladex the longer acting 10.6mg depot injection to help excessive hemorrhaging due to fibroids. I have been on it over a year and the side effects are terrible. Have been put on Tibolone (HRT)to combat the bone degeneration and pain and hot flushes etc none of it works it was all started due to Covid with no end in sight it's unlikely I will get a hysterectomy as mine is not related to endometriosis so been told to hang on till menopause sets in but that could be years away. I hope you get yours sorted it's not fun. I asked for one at 36 and still no chance 13 years later.

Hiya - I was on Zoladex 3.6 for 7 months after surgery, without HRT - took a quick break to freeze my eggs - and am now back on it while awaiting a second surgery - had my new Zoladex just a few days after the egg collection. Just had the Covid vaccine too, so am waiting a few more days to let all the chemicals from fertility treatment and symptoms from vaccine pass, then I'll be starting on HRT - so I don't confuse any side effects! I don't want to be on the implant longer than a few more months max, but my endo gallops and I'm waiting for cysts which were drained to be properly removed, so I can have a period without being back at square one! Sorry if all that is TMI - just trying to share my own experience with all this medical craziness. I've had so many delays to treatment, as a lot of us have. It's so tiring, but you could write a letter to your consultant or your hospital PALS dept and try to plot a new plan of action or get to the bottom of delays.
