Symptoms before period

I have been diagnosed with IBS & suspected endometriosis. I haven’t had my laparoscopy yet.

My periods first started when I was 15/16, I’m 24 now and I still don’t have a concrete diagnosis! I have been taking the combined pill for quite a few years as I find that it does help with some of my symptoms.

I’ve always had some strange symptoms that occur the week before my period, and I feel like they’ve been getting worse in the past three years.

I get awful fatigue the week before. I struggle to do even the most basic tasks, no matter how much sleep I get. I even feel hungover when I wake up in the mornings, or like I have a bad cold. I can often feel very weak and faint. I also get breathlessness and a tight chest, even just walking up the stairs can be a task.

I also get really horrendous leg pain/aches, usually in my right leg. The best way I can describe it is like it’s a really intense growing pain, deep in the bone. It travels all the way down and it’s so uncomfortable. I usually get a lower left rib pain/ache with this too.

Does anyone else experience similar symptoms??

I often get very similar symptoms before/on my period.

Really awful pain travelling down my legs into my feet, and it feels like my kneecaps are coming off. Walking is agony when it’s like that.

The mental fog is the worst part, I feel like I’m losing my mind for about 3-4 days each month, until my period starts to ease off and then it’s like I come back into my body again?

Hi, I wanted to share that I have been having a very similar pain down my right leg and in my right bum cheek for quite a few days before and after my period. I had a laparoscopy in October and was diagnosed with stage 4 endo. I had a large cyst on my left ovary removed, lesions in and around my ovaries and womb removed and everything unblocked and unstuck. I still have endo fusing my bowel and womb together which I think is where the leg pain comes from as it is near the sciatic nerve. But I totally get what you mean about it feeling like a really intense growing pain. It feels like all of my muscles have seized up.

It’s strange that I never had the leg pain before my op, but only since other endo was removed. My only symptoms prior to surgery were excruciating periods and a pain in my left side. Although looking back I have suffered with bladder issues over the years.

I am also struggling with fatigue it seems every other week. Had anyone found anything to help with the leg pain/fatigue?

Good luck with your Laparoscopy x
